Colleagues in the contacts directory
Why your own team are contacts too, and why they never appear twice.
One rule: every seat is a contact
Anyone who takes a seat in the workspace enters the contacts directory in that same request — whether they arrived by invitation, had their account created directly, or founded the workspace.
Without that rule, half the firm would be missing from the firm's own directory — and you could not assign a colleague a task or find them in a feed.
If they were already listed, no duplicate is made
Many firms have already listed their own staff as contacts. That record is adopted rather than duplicated.
Address matching ignores letter case, and special characters inside an address are compared literally rather than as a pattern. So one person's address never adopts somebody else's contact record.
An ordinary contact is not a colleague
The colleague tag belongs only to people who genuinely hold a seat in the workspace. A client's contact never gets it, however much you work with them.
