Spread a statement
From a read document to rows mapped onto the chart of accounts.
Four stages
The document is read
A spread is built from a finished document. One still processing cannot be spread.
Rows are extracted
Each row arrives with its own citation: which page, which table. The citation is part of the row, not an addition to it.
Rows are mapped
Mapping suggestions are derived from the row label and are deterministic — the same input always gives the same suggestion. Mappings you approved before are suggested again in later spreads.
It becomes review-ready
While any row is still unmapped, the spread will not be declared ready for review.
You can add your own accounts
If a row fits no standard account, create a custom one. The statements grid shows it alongside the rest.
The standard chart of accounts exists from the moment a workspace is created, and restarts never duplicate it.
A cited document cannot be deleted
While any spread row cites a document, that document will not delete. A citation pointing at a deleted file is not a citation.
The same rule protects evidence in the FDD workbench.
