Upload a recording

If the meeting was recorded elsewhere, hand over the file and the rest is automatic.

One file, several segments

An uploaded file is automatically cut into shorter segments — at the silences, not every fixed number of minutes. Cutting on silence keeps a sentence from being severed mid-word.

After the split the meeting is moved to ended automatically and the segments transcribe one by one — exactly the path live capture takes.

If the automatic split fails for any reason, the whole file is transcribed as a single segment. The result is a little worse, but the meeting never gets stuck.

Uploading is the organiser's job

Only the meeting's organiser can upload a file, and only while the meeting is in a state that accepts one.

Format, size and emptiness are all checked. A fragment with no file header — which some browser recorders produce — is refused at the door, because it is not a decodable file.
