Getting started

Import your contacts

Without contacts, nothing else means anything. This is the first real task.

Where to start

  1. Gather your current list

Wherever it lives — a spreadsheet, a phone book, a previous CRM. Completeness does not matter; starting does.

  2. Keep companies and people apart

A company is one record and each person inside it is a contact. In B2B work, people carry different histories, and that difference is what decides things later.

  3. Let the rest fill in over time

Nothing has to be right on day one. Empty fields fill themselves with the first note.

Email is the merge key

When a list is imported, records sharing an email address are treated as one person. Similar names are not merged — two spellings of the same name with no shared address are two people.

Address comparison ignores letter case, so if one file has Ali@ and another has ali@, that is still one person.

The practical consequence: clean the email column before importing. It is the only column worth the time; everything else can be fixed afterwards.

If you are coming from another CRM

Move contacts and companies by exporting from the old tool and importing here.

For activity history, get in touch and we will look at it together — what is possible depends on what your export actually contains, and a blanket promise would be dishonest.
